Program Description

Event Details

Our next art exhibition is Banned! Artists Respond to Book Banning, presented by the Friends of the Floyd Memorial Library, and running in tandem with September's Banned Books Week.

An annual event highlighting the harms of censorship, Banned Books Week is supported by a coalition of organizations, including the American Library Association.  In this spirit, we are inviting local artists to create a work that addresses the freedom to read.

The exhibit opens to the public on Saturday, September 21.  Works featured in the exhibit will be for sale by lottery at $100 each, with proceeds shared by the artist and the Friends of Floyd Memorial Library.

The closing reception will be held on Friday, October 11 from 6-8 pm.
